Ken Jurgensen
Ken has proudly called Caldwell home for 48 years. A lifelong community volunteer and experienced facilities and infrastructure professional, he brings more than 40 years of leadership managing multimillion-dollar budgets, capital projects, and operations for major corporations including Bank of America, HSBC, and Time Warner. Elected to the Caldwell Borough Council in 2023, Ken has focused on fiscal responsibility, transparency, infrastructure improvements, rent control, historic building preservation and smart long-term planning while working across the aisle to always put Caldwell first. Ken and his wife, MaryEllen, raised their three children in Caldwell and remain deeply committed to the community they proudly call home.
Jonathan Sagalow
Jonathan is a born and raised New Jersey resident with a background in construction management. A graduate of University of Cincinnati with a Bachelors in Urban Planning, he has managed multimillion-dollar projects, focusing on smart budgeting, efficient project delivery, and long-term value. When Jonathan and his wife, Stacey, moved to Caldwell, they experienced local infrastructure challenges on their third day of home ownership. That experience motivated Jonathan to become more involved in the community and advocate for practical, long-term solutions. Jonathan’s priorities as a borough counselor are to provide needed oversight on infrastructure and capital improvement projects, revitalize the downtown, and ensure Caldwell remains a strong, resilient community for future generations.
Mark Heftler
Mark Heftler is a lawyer, technologist, and public servant who brings practical governance and legal experience to Town Council. As Senior Counsel with a National Appellate Litigation & Consulting practice group, he manages disputes from case assessment through trial, arbitration, and appellate resolution, appearing before the New Jersey Appellate Division and arguing appeals before the Disciplinary Review Board; he previously served on the Sussex County Board of Elections, advancing transparency and process-driven administration. With trial and appellate experience representing municipalities, boards, and businesses, Mark holds a J.D. from Seton Hall, a B.A. from Marist University, and an Executive MBA (with honors) from Quantic, and is a frequent speaker on AI and the law.
